Well, I'm definitely working on it. And, and I feel like part of it is finding, you know, thinking through journaling is huge. Journaling has been, you know, I'll finish a book and write 14 pages of why this, you know, what it meant to me and why, but knowing that you're not, knowing that you're not perfect and knowing that you do have issues here and there, but finding the things that you really like about yourself and surrounding yourself with people who love you.
Imagine feeling like you need a drink to fit in at every social event, to unwind after a hectic day, or just to keep up with life's demands. That's the reality Katie Van Dyke faced for years. In this episode of 'Together S.O.B.E.R.', host Louise Barnett chats with Katie about her struggle with the societal pressures of drinking and her journey towards sober curiosity.
Katie's story is a heartfelt exploration of how she balanced the image of being a 'supermom', 'superwife', and 'super professional' while grappling with the cognitive dissonance of living a healthy lifestyle but still drinking alcohol. She shares the challenges of being honest with her three children about her past and the new truths she's discovering. Katie's candidness offers a fresh perspective on normalizing non-drinking and supporting those who are questioning their relationship with alcohol.
Her journey is filled with self-reflection, journaling, and seeking support, making it a relatable and inspiring listen for anyone considering a change.
