Alex McRobs: From Party Girl to Sober Yoga Guru

I thought, as a yoga teacher, that I was like a fraud if I had these mental health issues, because I thought the yoga teachers just came out of the womb and were there to impart their wisdom on being calm. And that was like this pivotal thing for me, and now it's become such a big element of what I do.
Ever wondered how someone can transform from a party-loving lifestyle to becoming a beacon of sobriety and wellness? In this episode of the Sun & Moon Sober Living Podcast, Mary Tilson chats with Alex McRobs, also known as Sober Yoga Girl. Alex's story is nothing short of remarkable. She opens up about her days of heavy partying in the Middle East, her struggles with mental health, and the pivotal moment she realized she needed to change her life.
Now an international yoga teacher and sobriety coach, Alex runs The Mindful Life Practice, a global community offering yoga classes, self-help resources, and Sober Curious Yoga Challenges. She shares how yoga became her anchor in sobriety and how it can help others too. Alex also discusses the pandemic's impact on alcohol use and mental health, emphasizing the importance of sharing your story and finding community support.
Whether you're sober curious or already on your sobriety journey, Alex's insights on integrating yoga and mindfulness into daily life offer a fresh perspective on recovery.
