Most of my growth has come from the uncomfortable things that I'm doing. I didn't want to become a Christian, but I did. And so far, I have had no failure, doing this podcast. It was uncomfortable, but I knew, you know, I just keep telling myself, do the uncomfortable things.
What happens when you decide to face the uncomfortable head-on? Raymond Moore knows all too well. Growing up in a household shadowed by addiction, Raymond was no stranger to substance abuse. His early years were marked by the same destructive patterns he saw around him. It wasn’t until his mid-teens that he started to see the dysfunction for what it was. Yet, recognizing the problem was just the beginning.
It took until his mid-20s for Raymond to admit he had a problem himself. This realization came at a steep cost, as his addiction led him to neglect his family and spiral into deeper chaos. The turning point came with a heartbreaking loss – the passing of his wife. It was then that Raymond found the courage to seek help and commit to change.
He joined a faith-based program that provided not only support but also a newfound sense of purpose through faith. Today, Raymond’s life is unrecognizable from his past. He’s changed his attitude, his approach to life, and most importantly, he’s broken free from the cycles that once held him captive. Raymond’s story is a powerful reminder that embracing discomfort can lead to profound transformation.
He encourages others on the recovery path to step out of their comfort zones and seek the support they need. His journey underscores the importance of faith and community in overcoming addiction and rebuilding a life filled with hope.
