I think I'm going to be able to do this. But I think I thought at some point in the future, but actually it was the next time I ran the course about six months later, it was such a big success that I had made enough money to live on for that year. That was mind-blowing because I've always struggled a bit financially, always just had enough to keep everything going, but no savings.
What happens when an artist reconnects with their true passion after years of disconnection? Louise Fletcher, an abstract landscape artist with a deep love for the Yorkshire Moors, shares her story in this episode of 'Born to Create'. Hosted by Maria-Katharina Richters, the podcast delves into Louise's journey from leaving her art behind in her 20s to rediscovering it later in life. Louise's tale is one of self-expression, resilience, and the transformative power of creativity.
Growing up in Yorkshire, she spent her days exploring the outdoors and making art. But a move to North America led her to abandon her artistic pursuits, thinking she had 'grown up'. It wasn't until years later that she realized how much she missed creating and how disconnected she felt from herself. Louise talks about how she found her way back to art, emphasizing the importance of surrendering to the process and embracing what she calls 'mediocrity'.
For her, it's about letting her hands translate emotions into marks on a surface, building layers until the painting becomes a soulful connection. Apart from her own work, Louise is passionate about helping others explore their inner worlds through fearless art. She co-hosts the podcast 'Art Juice', founded the 'Find Your Joy' program, and leads the artist community 'Art Tribe'. Her story is a powerful reminder that creativity can heal and transform us on multiple levels.
This episode is perfect for anyone struggling with self-doubt or feeling disconnected from their creative passions. It's a testament to the idea that it's never too late to find your way back to what you love.
