Rachel W's Story: From Rock Bottom to Role Model in Recovery

To be able to be somebody, a role model, not only to my daughters, my family, but to any woman that is so low that their kid finds them dead, that they sell their bodies, that they do these, these just indescribable things that are not them, that they think they are not worth it, that they can't think they can't make it, to be like.
Rachel W from Louisville, KY, takes us on a raw and emotional journey through her battle with addiction in this episode of 'Sober Speak'. She doesn't shy away from the harrowing moments, including the day her daughter found her overdosed. Rachel talks about the immense impact her addiction had on her family and the steep climb back to sobriety. Losing custody of her daughter and facing jail time were among the many challenges she faced.
But Rachel's story is not just about the lows; it's about the incredible resilience and strength she found within herself. A pivotal part of her recovery was finding a supportive sponsor who guided her through the toughest times. Rachel emphasizes how this relationship was crucial in helping her stay sober. She has now turned her life around and become a beacon of hope for others in recovery.
By sharing her story, she aims to inspire others to hold on and believe in the possibility of redemption and change. Tune in to hear Rachel's powerful tale of transformation and the importance of community and support in the journey to sobriety.
