Finding Peace: The Power of Forgiveness After Divorce

But being able to release that is difficult. I'm not going to say it's easy because it is not easy. It is one of the most difficult things about healing from divorce, but it's also one of the pivotal things, because when you release your ex into god's hands, when you say that you are no longer going to allow them to control your life by their actions or by their words, they no longer have power over you, and when they no longer have power over you, you can start to heal and you will start to heal.
Divorce is a turbulent journey, and forgiveness can often feel like an impossible task. In this episode of the Surviving Divorce Podcast, the host tackles the complex yet essential topic of forgiving your ex. Drawing from personal experiences and spiritual teachings, he unpacks why forgiveness is more than just a feeling—it's a conscious choice that can set you free. By letting go of hurt and bitterness, you open the door to emotional and physical healing.
This episode dives deep into the challenges of forgiving, especially when children are involved or the relationship was abusive. Yet, it offers a hopeful perspective: relying on spiritual strength can make forgiveness achievable. The host also explores how holding onto anger can harm your well-being and how releasing it can lead to a more amicable relationship with your ex. For anyone navigating the rough waters of post-divorce life, this episode offers valuable insights and a path towards healing.
