Colorado, there are a lot of transplants in Colorado. And we don't have that family history that we have that dreamy thoughtfulness of when we think back 50 years of, yes, we're all going to support each other. There are a lot of folks out there that are on their own or have very little supports.
Beth Hall Roalstad sits down with Lee Patke, the Executive Director of Greccio Housing, for a conversation that’s both enlightening and inspiring. Lee's journey from a sales rep at Hershey Chocolate to leading a nonprofit dedicated to affordable housing is a story of transformation and purpose. Greccio Housing isn’t just about providing a roof over people’s heads; it’s about creating stable, safe, and affordable homes for over 1,000 residents each year.
Lee shares how Greccio offers more than just housing – they provide essential services, community events, educational workshops, and ongoing support to help residents achieve financial independence and stability. This episode dives deep into the challenges of addressing homelessness and the pressing need for affordable housing in Colorado Springs. Lee and Beth discuss the vital role of the community in advocating for change and highlight the collaborative efforts of the Pikes Peak Housing Network in tackling housing instability.
Whether you’re directly impacted by these issues or looking for ways to contribute to your community, this episode offers valuable insights and practical steps to make a difference.
