And I'm still processing it in a huge way in this present moment, even. Yeah, I think I went down there on the 15th or something like that of March. So yeah, I'm processing. I'm still working on putting it all together and forgiveness and letting go. And working with the psychologists as well, they asked me if it's okay to feel the sadness and to understand that I'm suffering, right? Again, I pride myself and watch out for the pride on not wallowing in victim consciousness. But you know, you got to watch out for the pride and standing on your tall horse and acting like, well, you know, I don't have that. But it was hard for me to admit the suffering because, you know, I don't want to play the victim. And they say behind the anger, there's this tremendous sadness. And I'm grateful that you invited me on the podcast because I am still processing it. I don't want to, you know, come up. My ego doesn't want to come off like a sad sap yeah the work is deep the work is deep so I'm still right in the middle of it so thank you.
Imagine living a life dedicated to health and wellness, yet still feeling the weight of unresolved anger. That's the paradox holistic health practitioner and life coach Troy Casey faced, leading him to explore the depths of Ibogaine treatment. Known to many as the Certified Health Nut on YouTube and Instagram, Troy has spent over two decades guiding others towards better living. But what happens when the guide needs guidance?
In this episode of 'Root Medicine', host Amanda Siebert dives into a raw and eye-opening conversation with Troy about his personal journey with Ibogaine therapy. Why would someone who seems to have it all together seek out such a potent treatment? Troy opens up about his reasons, shedding light on the hidden battles behind his public persona. Social media often shows a polished version of our lives, but what's really going on behind the scenes?
This discussion peels back the layers, revealing Troy's struggle with anger and the societal pressures that fuel it. You'll hear about his quest for balance in a world filled with distractions that undermine both physical and mental health. How has Ibogaine helped Troy navigate these challenges? He shares how this powerful substance has allowed him to 'get out of his own way' and confront deep-seated issues.
One of the most striking parts of the conversation is Troy's reflection on masculinity and vulnerability. In a culture that often equates manliness with stoicism, Troy talks about creating space for anger while learning to shed toxic bravado. This episode isn't just about one man's journey; it's a broader look at how we all deal with emotions we're often told to suppress.
If you've ever struggled with balancing your inner world with the demands of modern life, this episode offers a compelling listen. Join Amanda and Troy as they unpack these themes, offering not just insights but a sense of solidarity in the ongoing journey towards self-acceptance and healing.
